Religion in Cabo Verde

The March 2016 parliamentary elections led to a shift in power in the Cabo Verde. According to thesciencetutor, the ruling PAICV of Cabo Verde went back 9 seats and had to settle for 29, while the Liberal Party Movimento para Democracia (MpD) went 8 seats up to 40. This gave it the absolute majority in the 92-seat parliament. New prime minister became MPP chairman Ulisses Correia e Silva.

President Fonseca reclaimed the October 2016 election by 74.1% of the vote against independent Albertino Graça, who gained 22.5%. PAICV was unable to post a candidate after the March election defeat.
