As soon as we talk about Kashmir, I realize that a lot of people still believe that it is complicated to maintain.
While the opposite (and that’s partly why I love this material).
* Kashmir loves water, more wash, plus it is beautiful *.
-Wash it in the machine, the movement is smoother and softer than you can do by hand.
-On a programme wool, cold (some sweaters can felting from 30 °), with a special detergent cashmere or wool. You can put some laundry directly on the places that most needs to be cleaned – col, etc. – and crac, live in the drum. Or in a net laundry if you prefer.
Give it to the dry cleaners if you did on tough assignments.
-Without fabric softener! It is imperative, that damage it.
-With a slight spin (400 rounds maximum graaaaand – a lot of people will tell you 600 towers, me I shot a sweater, with 600 rounds) or no spin at all. Personally I just spin and then I roll the sweater in a towel to remove the water. Obviously, do not twist the sweater by hand to wring out it, that damage fibers.
-Dry flat. Me I dry on a towel (a new, dry 😉 to avoid having the marks of the drying rack on my sweaters because I don’t iron them (I don’t iron anything, here’s not a maintenance issue, you can gently iron the)) Cashmere).
* Frequency wash *
Some say to wash a sweater whenever you wear it. I do agree, I am rather of the school “I wash after wearing it 4 or 5 times”.
* Pilling *
The Cashmeres Pilling, even the most luxurious. But they are good quality, less they pilling. Because her pilling (no residual, see below) is due to the fact that the wires are short and so we have all ready to get out of the sweater and pill; son ends but when a Kashmir’s high-quality threads are the longest possible.
Despite that, all Cashmeres are of “pilling residual” in the places of friction (under the arms, in the place where to pass the strap of your bag, etc…).
To remove them do be careful with razors, if we are not careful it can make holes. Use rather a comb in Kashmir (otherwise remove them by hand, it’s long but you sure not to damage the sweater).
If you wash it in a good frequency there should less pill, and more you will wash over pilling them residual will be rare. That’s why as a cashmere sweater embellished over time and washing.
* Number of wires *
It starts 2-wire (end, easy to wear in the city and under a coat sweater) and going up to 12 (there almost a jacket). You know there’s son, more the sweater is expensive.
* Price *
There are absolutely all prices in the area of Kashmir, there as well at Monoprix than at Hermes. You can imagine (bis) that Hermes will be of better quality and will last much longer than that of Monoprix ;-).
Mine come from or Monoprix (I find that €90 for a sweater that will not take long, it’s too cheap – and I find cuts and really depressing colors) or at Hermes (no kidding? ;-).) I like the intermediate brands – and especially not fashion – making Kashmir of very good quality for decent prices (brands tend too often the m… for very expensive).
So I recommend not to go with a brand very mode for Kashmir, but to choose the more classic you will not regret after 3 washes. OK, the cuts will be (slightly) less fashion. But you won’t have on the quality-price ratio.
